Hey Robert,
Thanks for the feedback. I remember your original email and photo. Seeing it here again, I have the exact same thought: very well used, hammered gloves that clearly have seen a lot of action. It's takes some solid effort to do that to a pair of gloves. No doubt you get after it.
HOWEVER, there is absolutely nothing in this photo that represents a premature failure or warrantee issue. Gear has limitations. When you see a pair of gloves that have even wear across all parts and everything is beat to s#$&, it tells me the gloves did their job. A bad pair would blow up in one area clearly before other areas were worn out. these are totally crushed from tip to tail. So, let me be very clear: this is not a bad product issue. This is an expectation issue. There isnt a pair of gloves in the world that will last forever. I have the same exact gloves that i put hundreds of miles on each season. And i have never ever ever blown up a pair like this. I honestly dont even know how you did it. So great job. Seriously. YOu have found a way to use a pair of gloves that is way beyond average. Your data point is totaly valid and relevant. But, again, it doesnt speak to poor quality. It speaks to hard use and reaching the life expectancy of a product earlier because you get after it and are hard on your stuff. For those of you reading this, it's very worthwhile to understand that nowhere in my literature do i claim the gloves wont wear down over time. And, for warrantee issues i'm super fair and essentially dont ask questions if someone comes to me with a fair and honest issue. When this photo was sent to me, it did not include any communication as to what the context of the image was or that there was a warrantee claim against them. It was an image of a destroyed pair of gloves that clearly was the result of hard riding. So, yes, i said nice work. Had there been more context to the email and image, i may have had a different response.
So, clearly, my bike gloves dont meet your expectations. And that's absolutely fair. But, i stand behind my product. And these gloves in this image are totally crushed per good, hard use. It is abnormally hard wear and tear. It's nothing that i have been able to accomplish over thousands of miles on my own gloves. The gloves are built well. that materials are good. They provide comfort and protection for a given period of time. But that time is NEVER going to be the same of each individual. And, again, when i see a pair that has such even and absolute wear and tear from tip to tail, that's a good glove. That's not something that failed prematurely.
Robert, I'll go ahead and refund you for your last pair. That's because I'm cool and even when the situation doesnt call of it, i'm more than fair.
My product is super solid and well built.
thanks,
Brett
